Black Women in Aviation (BWIA)
Black Women in Aviation (BWIA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness,
promoting engagement and enabling advancement of black women in all aviation and aerospace career fields and business sectors.
We strive to partner with black women in the aviation field to provide career development, coaching and financial resources to pursue career advancement.
While membership is actively growing, we seek to embody a diverse membership inclusive of pilots, maintenance technicians, engineers, air traffic controllers, business owners, educators, journalists, flight attendants, high school and university students, airport managers, and many others.
We eagerly welcome all those interested in furthering the efforts and career achievement of women, especially black women in aviation.

- Creating a platform that showcases the incomparable contributions of past, present and future black women in aviation.
- Partnering with Corporations, schools and universities to develop and deliver customized programs designed to attract, develop and retain a robust pipeline of black female STEM leaders.
- Providing mindset coaching, mentorship, and networking opportunities to black women in aviation.
- Increasing the statistics of black women in the aviation industry by inspiring black girls to pursue aviation career fields.
- Providing scholarships to black women pursuing education and/or career advancement in aviation/aerospace related fields.

TAKING FLIGHT
This year we will focus on laying the foundation for BWIA, identifying and addressing real needs of black women in the industry today and creating attraction for others to join the cause and position BWIA as a platform for REAL progress in the field of aviation & aerospace.
