Founded by Samantha T. Mitchell, in Aug 2022, Black Women in Aviation (BWIA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of black women in all aviation and aerospace career fields and interests. This organization is designed to champion black women embarking in the field of aviation and aerospace - Seeking to excite, ignite and embark throughout all stages of life from adolescents, throughout college and/or technical certifications to ultimately fulfilled careers.  We foster an environment that encourages black female excellence at every aspect; home, school, and work.  BWIA seeks to cultivate a supportive community through collaborative efforts with private and public entities, harvesting youth outreach initiatives, while also providing mentorship and scholarship opportunities.  By empowering these incredibly bold professionals, we're helping them take flight to attain their personal and professional goals...Come SOAR with us!
